A Wayward Landlord Is Finally Hit with Large Penalty for Property Negligence According to Greycoat Real Estate
Greycoat specialists share insights on the UK´s current housing trends. Residents of some housing properties located in Padiham have long complained about the absolutely horrifying living conditions there. At long last, the landlord, Mr. David Waddington was finally confronted with a legal order to pay the staggering amount of over £14,000 for his failure to make property repairs as dictated by the Housing Act of 2004.
As a result of this landlord’s extreme negligence, up to now the residents claim that they have lived in units plagued with mold, dangerous holes in the ceilings of buildings and numerous electrical hazards among many other issues. These residents have been sounding the alarm for over two years or more according to sources known to Greycoat Real Estate.
Burnley Council has apparently been attempting to get this wayward landlord to make the needed repairs but noted that only minor repairs were ever made during this timeframe. Residents have expressed their day-to-day struggles that include the stress of living in these dangerous conditions seen in negative impacts to their health and mental well-being. For Greycoat, this is important to know.
Mr. Waddington basically ignored notices that required him to follow through with essential work on all of his impacted properties, Greycoat adds. He did admit to three offenses under the same Housing Act 2004, and it is hoped that this ruling will help ease the suffering of the residents at long last.
This ruling was made after a two-year long investigation by the Council and officials. Greycoat Real Estate notes that the hearing was held in the Preston Magistrates Court and announced this week.
