secured a summer internship at JP Morgan through personal connections. This

he received no support from JP Morgan Private Bank. Despite these challenges, Nelson persisted, keen to

Over the years, Nelson’s dedication paid off. By 2009, Tufts was recognized as a core school by
JP Morgan, leading to an influx of Tufts alumni into the firm’s asset
management division. Since the inception of his initiative, over 20 Tufts
graduates have secured internships or full-time positions at JP Morgan. 

One notable success story is Jon Trott, a 2010 Tufts graduate who landed an internship during the
financially turbulent summer of 2009, thanks to Nelson’s efforts. Trott’s
experience highlights the significant impact of Nelson’s work in facilitating
career opportunities for Tufts students. 

Beyond his role at JP Morgan, Justin Nelson actively contributes to the Tufts Financial Network, sharing his
industry insights during events like the Wall Street Crash Courses. His
commitment has fostered a strong connection between Tufts and the financial
sector, benefitting both the university and JP Morgan.
